Upcoming Server Update
Posted on 06/13/08 6:32 PMThis is an early warning that Slackware 12.1, the newest version of the OS that TechnoServ uses, has been released, and we plan to upgrade sometime in the next several weeks. This will cause an interruption lasting up to several hours.
PHP4 Removal
Posted on 05/25/08 12:19 AMPHP4 can no longer be activated on new hosts. Sites that currently have PHP4 enabled will remain unaffected for now, and there are plans to remove PHP4 completely.
PHP4 End-Of-Life
Posted on 12/23/07 4:41 PMIn accordance with the PHP 4 End-Of-Life schedule, PHP4 will no longer be the default PHP version as of the end of this year (12/31/07). After that, the default PHP version will be PHP5. Users can still switch this via Webmin, although eventually PHP4 support will be dropped altogether.
Large Service Interruption
Posted on 11/18/07 2:00 PMAround 1:50 PM on Friday, TechnoServ's internet connection went down. We called our internet provider and were told our modem was no longer supported. So we replaced it and called back. Then we were told that there was nothing they could do and that they would have to send someone to fix it. However, the earliest they could come was Sunday. The connection is now back up (obviously), and things appear to be running smoothly. There may be another short outage as we shuffle things around to make sure the modem is receiving a proper signal.
